Paver deck pool, Merritt Island
A rectangular pool set in a wide tumbled paver deck, with bullnose paver coping, entry steps and a full-length tanning ledge. The deck runs from a covered lanai out to open lawn, giving the pool room on all four sides.

What we found
No pool in the backyard.
How we sequenced it
This one is a plunge pool with a precast concrete tank. The hole was dug, the tank was set in it, and the shell was waterproofed. Coping went on, then plumbing and equipment, then Ballystone tile.
A paver deck was laid around it, followed by bond coat, Tempool Element Series pebble in Verde White, and an Orenda startup.
Where it landed
The right size for a party, and small enough to heat quickly. A pebble finish, Ballystone tile and a paver deck around it. Easy to keep, and the homeowner is very happy with the value.

Questions we get on this kind of job
How long does a pool renovation take?
It depends on scope, permitting, weather, and material lead times. A builder who quotes a day count before seeing your shell is guessing. What you should expect is a dated schedule before work starts, and that is what we give you.
Why does coping go on before waterline tile?
Setting coping first means the tile band is only cut once, and it lets the waterproofing run continuously behind both. Tiling first forces a second cut and leaves a break in the waterproofing at the joint most exposed to sun and pool chemistry.
When do I pay?
Milestone billing. Each stage of the schedule triggers its own invoice, and a stage is only billed once it's complete. Nothing is billed ahead of the work.
Thinking about a pool like this one?
Luke walks it himself and prices it line-item by trade. You'll have a dated schedule before anything comes apart.
